Career team: Chief of Staff assigns work, specialists draft, a reviewer checks, and you approve.

Work through the steps

  1. Monday: spend 45 minutes reviewing your priorities and verifying opportunities. Choose three actions that fit your available time.
  2. Tuesday: spend 90 minutes preparing one strong application. Wednesday: spend 60 minutes practicing a skill and improving a work sample.
  3. Thursday: spend 45 minutes on appropriate follow-up and one useful professional conversation. Friday: spend 60 minutes on interview practice, documenting achievements, and reviewing your plan.
  4. Track applications, conversations, interviews, and quality problems separately. Small samples cannot prove one tactic caused an outcome. Change one practical element at a time and allow enough time for responses.
  5. If you are already employed, adapt the same routine to a contribution log, skill experiment, stakeholder conversation, and development discussion. Bring verified evidence to promotion or compensation conversations.

Review this week’s career activity against my goal and [hours] available. Separate actions, verified outcomes, and assumptions. Identify where I need better evidence, preparation, or follow-through. Suggest three next actions and one small experiment, without blaming me for employer decisions or promising results. Prepare a weekly agenda for my approval. [Activity log.]

Before you call it finished

Is next week achievable? Did you preserve time for proof and relationships as well as applications? Are conclusions proportionate to the evidence?
