Define good before you generate
Choose an outcome you can evaluate. For a customer email, that might mean an accurate answer, a respectful tone, a clear next step, and no promise your team cannot keep. Give those standards to your AI partner.
Ask for the questions first
Before requesting an answer, ask what information is missing. A good brief includes the audience, context, source material, constraints, and examples. Use approved tools and only information you are permitted to share.
Challenge the draft
Ask for alternative approaches and weak assumptions. Then review the answer yourself. Check factual claims against reliable sources. Recalculate important numbers. Decide whether the recommendation fits the people and circumstances involved.
Keep the learning
Compare the result with your original quality standard. Did you reduce errors, communicate more clearly, or save meaningful time? Record the improvement and what required human intervention. That is a useful story about your AI fluency.
