Your experience, together. Your next chapter, in view.
Build a fuller picture of what you know, what you have done, and how you work. Turn the details you choose into a resume and a portfolio draft.
Your next step
Start where you need help. Other tools open in a new tab to keep your current work open; entries do not transfer automatically.
Before closing a tool, download your work. The career profile also offers optional device saving; the application tracker needs its own downloaded backup.
Start with one experience or project. Add depth as you go. Bring in text from your own LinkedIn profile, resume, or Waymaker Builder DNA result. Review it, add your evidence, and choose what to include in each output.
Your profile starts in this page’s memory. You can opt into saving on this browser below, or download a full backup before leaving and restore it another day. No account, AI processing, or profile publishing is connected. Imported files and entries are not uploaded or sent to MailerLite or analytics.
How to create your resume
Bring your experience. Add your name and details below, or open “Import from LinkedIn, a resume, or Builder DNA” to paste text or read your own PDF, DOCX, or TXT file. Review and confirm the fields to import. A LinkedIn URL alone will not import a profile.
Choose what belongs. Add or edit experience, projects, education, and skills. Check “Include this entry in resume” on the entries you want. Private source text and planning notes stay out of the resume.
Choose a style and review. Under “Choose and preview,” select Classic Professional, Modern Minimal, or Executive. Tailor the headline and summary if needed, refresh the preview, and check the facts and layout.
Download your resume. Choose Word (.docx) or plain text (PDF). For PDF, choose Resume in the preview, then “Print / save preview as PDF” and your browser’s Save as PDF option. Follow the employer’s requested format.
Keep your work: enable optional device saving or download a full backup. To keep different applications, enter a private version label and choose “Keep current draft as a version.” A resume download is different from the full private profile backup.
See a fictional resume example in all three styles
This is a demonstration, not someone’s actual career. Compare the same content in each style, then download a sample Word file to inspect it. The example does not fill, replace, or save anything in your own profile.
What to notice
The headline names the intended work.
Experience points describe concrete contributions without inventing percentages.
The practice project is clearly labeled and does not claim measured business results.
Sections use one column and readable text. Choose the employer’s requested file format and inspect your actual download.
Use the structure to organize your own facts. Do not copy the fictional credentials or experience. A style is a presentation choice, not an ATS score or a promise of an interview.
Device saving is off until you enable it. A full backup keeps your profile, saved resumes, achievement stories, practice answers, private notes, Builder DNA, and output choices.
Keep this readable, unencrypted file for yourself. Send employers a selected resume or portfolio, not your full backup.
Up to 4 MB. Earlier version 1 and 2 backups still open; new downloads use version 3 to include saved resumes. You will confirm before replacing this page’s profile. This is different from an application-tracker backup.

Optional saving on this device
Save your full profile, including private notes, imported source text, Builder DNA, achievement stories, and saved resumes, in this browser. No cloud sync or account is connected. On your next visit, choose Resume; saving stays off until you choose it. Unconfirmed import and reuse drafts are not saved.
JobCoach does not encrypt this browser copy. Anyone using this browser may be able to resume it: avoid shared devices. Browser clearing, private browsing, or storage eviction can remove it. Keep a downloaded backup too. Stopping saving retains the last completed copy; delete it separately. An already-running save may finish after you stop.
Checking for a saved profile…
Import from LinkedIn, a resume, or Builder DNA
Paste text from your own profile or choose a PDF, Word (.docx), or plain-text (PDF) file. Files are read on your device. Review the extracted text first, then choose which profile fields to update. LinkedIn ZIP archives, older .doc files, profile URLs, and direct account sync are not supported.
PDF or DOCX: up to 10 MB. PDF: up to 20 pages. TXT: up to 200 KB. Extracted text: up to 50,000 characters. Scanned images need OCR outside this tool; password-protected files are not supported. Complex layouts can change text order.
Review the extracted text
Using this text replaces only the import draft below. Your profile changes only after you review and confirm the proposed fields.
Up to 50,000 characters. Recognized English headings suggest fields; nothing is inferred from your name, age, archetype, or job title. Review names, dates, and section boundaries. Unrecognized text remains available as a private reference.
Choose what to bring into your profile
Only the original source is checked initially. Check additional fields individually, edit the proposed text, then confirm. Existing fields selected here will be replaced. Imported experience and education blocks become draft entries that you must organize before including them in an output.
YOUR COMPLETE PICTURE
Build your profile.
Open one section at a time. Most fields are optional. Each section can hold up to 20 entries.
REMEMBER THE WORK YOU CAN EXPLAIN
Your achievement bank.
Keep examples from paid work, learning, volunteering, caregiving, or projects. Record the situation, task, your action, and the result. These stories and practice answers stay private in your full backup. They do not automatically appear in resumes, portfolios, or AI prompts.
When a story is ready, write a separate summary, review it, and choose where to copy it. A new project starts excluded from both outputs. A summary added to an existing experience follows that entry’s current output selections.
Review before reusing a summary
This copies only the text reviewed here. Your private story, evidence references, and practice answer stay in the bank. Edits in this review are not saved back to the original summary or included in a backup until you confirm.
Existing experience text — kept as it is
Download a full backup to keep your bank and resume profile together. Private practice-note downloads are for your own preparation and include evidence references. They are not restorable backups.
CHOOSE WHAT TO SHARE
One profile. Two useful outputs.
Your name and headline appear in both outputs. Select other details below, and use the Resume and Portfolio checkboxes on each experience, project, education, credential, or community entry. New entries are initially excluded from the portfolio.
Resume
Three single-column styles, with text in the document body and conventional section headings. Follow the employer’s file instructions.
Tailor this resume for a role
Optional overrides change only the resume. Your master introduction and portfolio stay as entered above. Give the version a private label, tailor the headline and summary, and choose relevant entries above. Then keep a fixed copy below. There is no account; device saving is optional.
Leave an override blank to use your master profile. Rewrite emphasis using accurate facts; do not add qualifications you do not have.
Portfolio
A focused introduction and the work you choose to show. Contact details and Builder DNA highlights are off by default.
Builder DNA source text, dimension notes, support needs, reflections, and private planning never appear in these outputs. Highlights are self-described and can be changed or removed.
Keep resumes for different opportunities
Keep up to five fixed copies of your current resume selections, text, order, and style. Enter a unique Version label in “Tailor this resume for a role” above first. Saved copies stay unchanged when you edit your profile. To make a revised copy, choose a new label and keep the current draft again.
Copies are included when device saving is enabled. Download a full backup for a separate copy of all versions. A version includes selected contact information; keep backups private. Up to 100 KB per resume.
Editing any profile field returns the resume source to Current draft. Selecting a saved resume does not replace your master profile or portfolio. Word and text downloads always use the selected resume source; printing follows the Resume or Portfolio preview choice.
Review your selected content
Read the selected output as plain text
This is the reading order used to build your output, not a simulation of any employer’s ATS. Check the actual Word or PDF file too.
Resume review checks
Check spelling, dates, truthful achievements, link destinations, and permission to share each work sample. These templates are designed for straightforward parsing, but there is no universal ATS certification or score.
Word and text downloads use the selected Resume source, including a saved copy when selected. Print uses the selected preview. To make a PDF, choose “Save as PDF” in your browser’s print dialog, turn off browser headers and footers, and inspect every page. Font rendering and pagination can vary.
Keep or share your portfolio webpage
Choose Portfolio above and review it first. The HTML download contains only your selected portfolio content. Open it on your device or share it yourself. It is not published or hosted on JobCoach, and anyone you send the file to can read it.
Use AI to ask better evidence questions
This optional prompt uses the selected resume source (current draft or saved copy). It excludes your name field, the contact block, Builder DNA, and private planning. Employer names and details written inside your selected entries remain: read and remove anything confidential before pasting it into an AI assistant you choose. JobCoach does not send it to AI.
Use an answer to improve facts and wording you can verify. See the AI workflow (new tab) for the broader process.
What belongs in a comprehensive career profile?
A useful profile holds more than a current job title: relevant experience, the problems you have handled, work samples, learning, skills, and evidence of your contribution. Volunteering, independent work, placements, and community projects can matter when their context is clear. Your resume should select what fits the opportunity; your portfolio can show how the work happened.
How do I turn an achievement into a useful interview story?
Choose a specific example, make the setting clear, and explain your own contribution. Use situation, task, action, and result to organize the facts. A result can be an artifact you completed, feedback you received, or a change you observed. Say when an outcome is still unknown. Choose an interview question that the example actually answers.
Fictional example — volunteering: A community event needed clearer check-in materials. I grouped sign-up sheets by arrival window and explained them to two volunteers. We used the sheets at the event. I did not measure waiting times, so I would not claim that they fell.
Shareable summary: Organized check-in materials for a community event and briefed two volunteers on the revised process.
Keep private references in your bank. Review the short summary separately before copying it into an experience or project. Practice aloud, check the facts, and revise your answer in your own voice. If you use the optional AI prompt, it shares only the question, setting, and summary you review; JobCoach does not send it to an AI service.
Can I keep different resumes for different opportunities?
Yes. Tailor the current resume, select the relevant experience and projects, and enter a private version label. Keep up to five fixed copies, then download a full backup to retain them between visits. Later profile changes do not alter a saved copy. Select a copy to preview or download it; the full profile and portfolio stay intact. To revise an application, edit the current draft and keep it under a new label.
How does Builder DNA fit?
Open your own Waymaker Builder DNA assessment (new tab), copy the result text you want to use, or bring a PDF or DOCX copy you already have, and review it here. Choose specific strengths or collaboration habits that you can support with examples. Waymaker describes Builder DNA as a reflective framework, not a diagnosis or prediction of success. You decide whether any highlight belongs in a portfolio.
Can I import my entire LinkedIn history with a login?
This builder uses text or documents you supply and review. Standard LinkedIn sign-in provides basic identity information; it does not supply a complete employment history. We do not scrape profiles or ask for LinkedIn credentials.
What makes a resume easier to parse?
Use clear sections, readable text, and an order a person can follow. Keep essential information in the body of the document. Greenhouse’s resume-parsing guidance identifies complex columns, tables, headers, footers, and text boxes among possible parsing problems. The templates here avoid those structures. Always follow the specific employer’s instructions and check the exported file.
Explore how you think, decide, create, and follow through. Use your Builder DNA profile to reflect on your strengths and the support worth trying. Revisit it as your circumstances change.
Build a repeatable rhythm around your available time and energy. Try a short block for applications, interview practice, or learning, then adjust what does not fit.
Connect a goal to concrete next actions. For example: choose two suitable roles, prepare one evidence story, then review what you learned before planning the next week.
Waymaker opens in a new tab. Your JobCoach entries are not transferred; choose what you want to share there.
